If the God’s of summer could inhabit any
human city, it would be Sydney.
With beaches sprinkled in pristine sand and blue sparkling water, an
international palate of food from all corners of the globe and a city pulsing
with all the excitement of the world’s best capitals while still retaining the
quiet coastal charm of small town Australia. Sydney Australia is the unofficial capital of the nation,
turning all the states’ other cities green with envy. And what’s not to be jealous of? With flawless fashion, incredible coastlines, jaw dropping
architectural designs and breath taking day trips just a stone’s throw around
the corner – Sydney is Australia’s shining gem.
As far as a city goes, Sydney CBD is a cosmopolitan hub with enough shopping, nightlife,
restaurants and attractions to keep you occupied for years. If you have some time to spend in the
city, make sure you visit the red light capital Kings Cross.
Most tourists and locals have had at least one token visit to the Cross,
and no trip would be complete without it.
Each of the regional areas within Sydney
hold a unique charm to set it apart from the other areas. Bondi
Beach is a popular tourist and local hang out and it doesn’t take a genius
to figure out why. The beach is
breath taking and at any given time of the year, it is jam packed with
sunkissed tourists and locals eager to feel the summer sun on their skin. Make sure you check out the markets in not only Bondi, but Glebe, The Rocks, Paddington and more. Manly
is also a must see spot, with a trendy vibe and plenty of great boutiques
and restaurants to while away they afternoon.
One of the best things about visiting
Sydney is that much of the city can be visited on foot. Circular
Quay and Darling Harbour are
full of attractions to keep every age group occupied. With the Imax theatre, Aquarium and many of the city’s best
restaurants, both areas are set to a backdrop of the incredible Sydney Harbour
and just a short stroll from the city’s centre. Another popular visitor spot is The Rocks where tourists will find themselves transported back in
time to the place the First Fleet first docked in Sydney. The area is full of delightful cafes
and tourist shops as well as amazing architecture and history.
The adventures of the city will keep you on
your toes, so make sure you plan as much or as little activity as you feel
like. Whether you want to spend
your time on the Sydney beaches, surfing,
shopping, or one of the day tours
to the world listed national parks or
the Blue Mountains, Sydney has a
smorgasbord or activity and adventure for every age group.
